Hassan M. Yatim
The Chief Executive Officer, Owner and President of HMYatim Ventures and Chop Chop Convenience Stores.
Born and raised in Freetown, Sierra Leone, Hassan lived in the West African country until ultimately moving to Boston when he was 17. In 1987, he graduated with a degree in economics from Suffolk University. Currently he is the Chief Executive Officer, Owner and President of HMYatim Ventures and Chop Chop Convenience Stores.
Hassan is married to Maria Elena Yatim, and together they reside in Massachusetts having raised three children Esteban, Jawad, and Nina.
The Yatim brothers’ story is one of determination, grit, love of family and perseverance, coming to the U.S. with very little and creating a family empire convenience stores and gas stations, and a distribution company.
They Started the business in 1993 with their first gas station located on Lincoln Street — then an Exxon station and convenience store. After a successful first year running their first location on Lincoln St. The Following year they opened up another Exxon location across the city on Park Avenue and pleasant street.
After they acquired the gas station in Marlborough from then onwards Hassan M., Tarek M. and Khalil M. Yatim worked together for twenty-eight years, to build up the Yatco brand that distributes branded and non-branded gasoline to numerous gas stations throughout New England including twenty operated stores.
In 2021, the three brothers decided to part ways. Hassan M. Yatim became the sole owner off all Chop Chop convenience stores. This is where our story started and to many more chapters ahead.
